Greetings to all!
The name’s George, Peter George (you could call me Peter. Why? It’s shorter to say). I’m born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, North America and most importantly, Earth which is something I probably have in common with everyone else.
Here’s the story of my birth: my grandparents lived in Syria and Lebanon; 2 of them moved to Egypt and 2 of them moved to Syria. One parent is born in Syria and the other one in Egypt. They decide to meet in Montreal and I get born!
I discovered IFMSA-Quebec through a friend. I figured out that the academic curriculum was simply the minimum requirement to become a doctor. I wanted to to learn more than theory; I wanted to learn about life. Thus, I joined the exchange program of IFMSA to expand my horizons. As local exchange officer (IN), I work to help medical students who apply for a stage in Montreal to properly get through the application procedures. I also help international students to establish themselves in Montreal.
But who am I? The 2 firsts paragraphs described my roots and I will briefly describe my branches. I am a tennis addict and a movie watcher. I appreciate music and all other forms of art.
Ironically, I love traveling although El Salvador will be my first time “really” traveling. I am looking forward to meet everyone over there and live great moments.
To conclude, I would like to recall that these three last paragraphs were way too serious. Let’s thus finish with 2 jokes:
- “Man goes to doctor. Says he’s depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world. Where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says ‘treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up’. Man bursts into tears. Says ‘but doctor… I am Pagliacci’” – Watchmen (written by Alan Moore)
- “Three tomatoes are walking down the street. Papa tomato, Mama tomato and Baby tomato. Baby tomato starts lagging behind and Papa tomato gets very angry, goes back, squishes him and says : ‘ketchup’” – Pulp Ficion (directed by Quentin Tarantino)
